CWLA-OC President
We have all heard the familiar cry "I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR" but for Republican women in California, we have waited a long time for a GOP ticket to be led by dynamic, Republican women. In an upcoming election that is shaping up to be a battle between CEO’s and politicians, this may indeed prove to be the ‘Year of the Woman.’
In my term as President of the Orange County Chapter of the California Women’s Leadership Association, it has been my privilege to support both male and female candidates that support our mission of smaller government, individual freedom, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. We have seen some great candidates come before for local, federal and statewide offices but never before have we seen a GOP ticket quite like this one.
After celebrating CWLA’s 15th year in existence it has been an exciting time for us to witness this milestone and to have such a diverse, qualified group of GOP candidates leading our party. With Meg Whitman as the Republican nominee for Governor and Carly Fiorina as our first-ever Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, surely this is the year of the woman.
At CWLA, we are proud to celebrate all of the accomplishments of the GOP men and women who have come before us and are honored to celebrate these victories in 2010 as it marks the 90th Anniversary of women receiving the right to vote in America. We are also honored to see our own State Senator Mimi Walters secure the Republican nomination for State Treasurer! Go Mimi!
